What we cover

  • Skill starter 1: Portco news monitor. A scheduled task or platform automation pulls news on one named portco and outputs a 3-bullet brief to the PE team channel by 7am. Laptop-closed cadence means non-Cowork runtime.
  • Skill starter 2: IC memo skeleton generator. Key terms from a CIM or data room become a structured IC memo first draft (intro, thesis, market, financials, risks, asks).
  • Skill starter 3: Board pack synthesizer. Last quarter's financials and ops update become a board prep summary in your firm's template.
  • Skill starter 4: Quarterly review template. Structured portco check-in covering financials, KPIs, ops, risks. The Skill produces the template; you fill it in.
  • Skill starter 5: KPI tracker. Extract metrics from monthly portco reports into a trend chart with variance notes. Requires consistent input format.
  • Skill starter 6: Weekly portco pulse to the firm. A scheduled task or platform automation reads your portfolio-ops shared Outlook inbox or Teams channel every Friday and synthesizes the week's portco activity (financial updates, ops items, asks) into a 5-bullet pulse email for the PE team. Native: M365 plus the right runtime.
  • Same shape across all 6: a Skill plus optional scheduled runtime plus Plugin or connector that writes output back to a firm-shared surface (CRM record, knowledge base page, or team channel).

Why it matters

Portfolio ops is where one good loop, run every 2 weeks, compounds into a year of saved hours. The 6 starters are designed to be that loop. Pick the 1-2 that match where your weekly time goes. Connector dependency: these starters route through Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams) and Cowork's built-in web search. Confirm M365 is OAuth-connected to your Cowork instance before the breakout, in Settings > Connectors.
